NCC, Nigerian representatives discuss Russian-Nigerian cooperation prospects

NCC Vice-President  Pavel Kuznetsov met with Nigerian Charge d’Affaires ad interim in Russia Grema Garba Satomi Gana on March 20.

Nigerian Minister of Economy, Trade and Investment Friday William Akpan, NCC representative to Nigeria Joshua Orabiyi, and NCC project supervisor Yevgeny Lelikov also attended the meeting.

The meeting hosted by the Nigerian embassy addressed commerce opportunities for the Nigerian and Russian business communities, and current aspects and prospects of Russian-Nigerian cooperation.

NCC opened its second office in Africa last week. Joshua Orabiyi, a graduate of the People’s Friendship University of Russia, took charge of the office in Nigeria.

Nigeria is the largest country on the African continent by population (more than 220 million people) and one of the richest agricultural countries in Africa in terms of natural resources with a developed oil industry, which ensures domestic financial and economic stability. It is one of the world's ten largest oil exporters. Rusal subsidiaries operate in Nigeria. At the end of 2014, Lukoil acquired a stake in an offshore project in Nigeria.
